Students use the library on a regular basis to read and borrow books, learn research and information skills and improve their understanding of computer technology. Our library gives staff and students access to two SMART Boards and a Connected Classroom.
The library is open every morning except Wednesdays before school from 8.25am-8.50am. Parents are welcome to come to the library with their children during this time to read with them and to assist with their borrowing.
The library is available for students to use during lunch Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Students can read, complete school work, use computers and play games during this time.
Kindergarten and Year 1 students may borrow one book per week. Students in Years 2 – 6 may borrow two books per week. Students are only allowed to borrow new books once all their previous loans have been returned.
This facility gives parents from our school community the opportunity to borrow books and resources dealing with a range of parenting issues including special needs, food and nutrition, raising boys, raising girls and education.
All parents are welcome in our school library before school and can browse and borrow from the parent library during this time. Alternatively, a note can be sent in to the library with students requesting particular titles. Books will then be sent home with students.
Marayong Public School students and staff can access three world book online resources at school and at home.
